It isn’t the DEFINITION.

Put simply, its an idea. its multiple ideas.

The idea that “shut-up and grind,” at some point meets “work smarter not harder.”

tHE IDEA THAT EVERYTHING CAN ALWAYS BE IMPROVED, AND THAT IMPROVEMENT SHOULD NEVER STOP.

The idea that there is always a better way.

Marc Anthony famously said that “If you love what you do you’ll never work a day in your life.” —Now if we’re honest, I don’t even know who Marc Anthony is… I digress. The point remains, If you’re going to do something, you need to figure out how to love it. Why would you spend the bulk of your time doing something you hate? -Okay, yes, feed your family, keep the power on, pay taxes, yes. That isn’t what I’m getting at… I believe that enjoying what you do is simply a matter of finding the joy in it. You may not like the crawl spaces, mud, digging, etc. —But maybe you enjoy the end result, figuring out what the last guy couldn’t, making a very happy customer, doing beautiful work. You learn to enjoy the other stuff because it is a means to an end. You have to find the joy in what you do. I find joy in figuring out how to get from A to B better. More effectively. Tactically.
